For years Plainfield Co-op members have been wishing for a deli with take-out food and a place to sit and chat over a snack. Now we have it in the Route 2 store!
Intent on shopping, you could easily walk by the Deli, set back between the hardware and grocery sections, but take time to browse the delicious hot food and take-out options.

Chef manager Billy Bornstein took over the Deli two years ago after working as assistant kitchen manager at Positive Pie for seven years. He sees the Deli as a great place to share the Southern comfort food he grew up with and to create new recipes, such as Steak Rem-Chi, a customer favorite combining Louisiana style remoulade with Kim chi on a cheesesteak sandwich.
The Deli offers daily and weekly specials in addition to a regular menu (see photo insert). Biscuits and gravy every Friday often sell out. Other popular items are the Cuban sandwich, lasagna, meatloaf, and a seasonal variety of soups.

Baker Beatrix Dalton keeps the shelves stocked with fresh cookies, cakes, and muffins. The Deli also offers catering.
The Deli is open Monday-Friday, 7a.m. – 2 p.m. The grab-and-go items are available whenever the store is open. Stop by!
